Basil Pesto

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2-2 cups basil leaves
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup parmesan grated
  • 1 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Equipment

  • mortar and pestle optional
  • food processor optional

Method
 

  1. If using a mortar and pestle, add in the garlic and grind to a paste. Then add in the walnuts and crush into a paste as well. Then add in the basil mix to combine. Add in the oil, parmesan and salt and pepper to taste and mix vigorously.
  2. If using a food processor, add in the garlic and basil leaves and process. Then add in the walnuts, parmesan and olive oil and blend again. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
